Your Priest is a Liar.
He doesn’t know what happens when you die. Neither do you or I. His book isn’t a fact, and he’s smart enough to know this. He just hopes that you aren’t so that you will continue to put your money in the collection and chant the appropriate response.
By all means, philosophise, wonder, learn and conclude (whatever that conclusion may be, one of established religious teaching or otherwise); but be critical in your thinking.
You may consider yourself one of a flock but please, don’t be a sheep.
